Artist's Comments

Out on the stage;
smoke hanging in the air,
The crowd let out an ecstatic roar,
And I felt proud,
Deep in my very core,
It ran from my head to my feet,
And spilled out on the floor,

We went on through the night,
And they cried for more,
And when the show reached it’s height,
They had to bar the door,

Now it’s nearly morning,
And my hands are feeling sore,
So I rock the bass in my hands,
And follow up this last encore,

Poetry by Tescon.

A commission for ~Silverfox2007.

God, my hand was sore after drawing this. I worked eleven hours straight on it. Anyway, it was made in Open Canvas and Photoshop.

January 13th 2008 edit: Hooo-leeee crap. A year and a day after I created this, and it earns a DD. This is really flattering, especially as it's outdated in terms of my current skill. Wow, thank you so much.

Daily Deviation

Given 2008-01-13

Since months ago, 'Gig Night' has been suggested to get a DD so many times, I can't remember them all. And I know to finally feature it can be a bit risky, but if we want to renew the Daily Deviation spirit with some fresh pictures, this will be the perfect way to do it. I mean... the mood ~RansomDracalis created in here is magic... pure magic and there's no better term for it. You look at this picture and it captures you exactly then. The gentle expression of the bassist, you can feel the love for the music and his instrument. The colours which give you the impression of a little bar, probably smoke-filled, an audience of barely 50 or 100 people who just enjoy the jamming music of this band... *whistles* now that is one show I'd stay for, beautiful job with the shading, the sillohettes(sp?), and the tone...the feel man.....you really got deep into this which made it look awesome! The only thing that got me was the end of the guitar and the shadow under his head seemed a bit too heavy but that's me, everything else is just right! Great use of the OC program...hawt damn....that shirt and the expression on his face.....deep dude....deep...

I was lucky enough to watch this piece develop frame by frame; it was a fantastic transformation. I actually mistook the line-art for a piece in itself, but never did I expect such as this from so simple as those lines.

Like Michelangelo, Ransom seemed to peel away the layers to reveal the art below. From the barest, most indiscernable marks; he worked and dug the deeper - almost as if delving the very depths of the imagination to draw up and clear the dust from this treasure: until in finality there stood for all to see a masterpiece.

We are made of the basest elements,
And that is why they show so clearly - MSW.

Great work Ransom, the lighting works very well =3

This is an extraordinary piece of work.
You set of details is just amazing. The position of the hand, the shading on the bass...
Man, the ring is cool and you can even see the joints of his watch.
The illustration of the character is outstanding, not only because he's standing in the spotlight.
The set of colours fits the mood perfectly. I'd love to be at this gig...
Who got the honour of being the second sillouette? I can tell one of them is you.

I know that we are worlds apart
so all I can offer to you are words
honest ones, words from my heart
to close the gap between our worlds

Words cannot express the awesome that flows out of this piece. It was far more than I could have ever hoped to get. The amount of effort and sweat that went into this piece is evident every time I look at it. Simply astonishing. It's going to be my desktop at work...

Simply stunning, and I can't say much more than that.

:iconimboeboe:
Wow. This could be your best work yet. The expression on his face is perfect, and I love how you hid yourself in the background. You get a gold star today.
:iconransomdracalis:
Yay, a gold star! I'm gonna make the other kindergarteners jealous.
